I have been in my new home for five whole weeks! I think things have
gone pretty well . I've stopped peeing on the front room carpet and
although I've stolen some food I'm normally well
behaved and my new owners seem to be very understanding. Some times I
just enjoying sitting with (on) David and watching TV.

I have made friends with Charlotte, Richard's girlfriend, who has promised
to make me a waterproof coat for the winter. Charlotte buys me treats so I
am especially friendly to her! Here is a photo of me eating an enormous bone
she bought me;
Most
importantly, I am now allowed off the lead on my walks although I have to
wear my muzzle on these occasions. I have made some new doggy friends;
Gemma the Alsatian who lives just up the road and two greyhounds, Banjo and
Gracie. We have great fun just chasing around on Sunday we nearly caught a
little border terrier called Percy who lives round the corner from me.
Unfortunately David wasn't quick enough to capture this on
film.

September 14th
All
was going well until I cut my ear when on my late afternoon walk yesterday.
Don't ask me how I just did. After some emergency first aid at home last
night I went to the
vets
this morning and have just got back.. No serious damage the vet said that
it would heal its self. But, right ear has been taped to the top of my head
and all bandaged up this makes me look extremely foolish and is very
uncomfortable And, it has to stay on until the weekend.
Well, that wasn't so bad , I managed to get the wretched
bandage off by five o'clock - just in time for my dinner.

The General consensus is that I have settled in well.
I have learnt to come back when I am called and am off my lead, well most
times anyway.
 The
other evening I tried to make friends with a hedgehog in the back garden but
he didn't want to play. The hedgehog is called Norman but he hasn't been
around much this year. I don't suppose he will be coming back!

However,
I've made one more Human friend, Josie, their niece.

And another new friend is Danny, we correspond by email.

Things I have learnt:
- Not to pee on the carpet
- To bark at strangers if I hear them approaching the house
- To play with other dogs
- To come back when called- not always

At last, I'm now allowed off the
lead without a muzzle!!
I have made a new friend - Harry the Greyhound
- he can run really fast. We have some terrific chases!
Richard and Charlotte have got engaged. Do
I have to get them an engagement present and will I be invited to the
wedding?
Unfortunately, towards the end of
the month I caught my right fore leg on some barbed wire - a nasty
three inch gash which necessitated my spending a day at the vets and
having a general anaesthetic and seven stitches. Here are some
pictures of me and my bandage:

Three days later I had to have the wound
re-dressed!
